I was pleasantly surprised by how simple this app is. It works quickly, doesn’t give me any hassle, and pretty much does what I need without any fuss.

"Docks Are Usually Full"
I keep running into the same issue where the docks are often full, so I can’t return my bike when I need to. It’s frustrating, especially because there doesn’t seem to be any real person around to help or talk to when it happens. You’re just stuck dealing with the app and hoping it works out

"Signup was fine, but the phone part bugged me"
I made an account without much trouble, but the phone verification took a few tries and I got a little annoyed in the moment. It wasn’t a huge deal or anything, just slower than I expected.

The payment part worked fine, like I got charged with no issue. But, yeah, the refund took longer than I expected, so that was a bit frustrating

"Fun when they work, but am I missing something?"
I’ve used the e-bikes a few times now, and when you get a good one, they’re fun and quick. But am I missing something with the pricing? Some of the bikes feel noticeably weaker, or the battery is already low when you grab them. It’s not a terrible experience overall, just feels a bit inconsistent for what you’re paying.

"Comfortable, but not perfect"
The seats were comfy, and the ride felt smooth enough for me overall. I wouldn’t say it completely blew me away, but I also didn’t have much to complain about. Kind of a solid, decent experience.

The rides themselves were fine, no real complaints there. But the extra fees kind of came out of nowhere, and it felt like the price kept shifting after I thought I understood what I was paying. I don’t love feeling like the goalposts are moving every time I book something. I just wish the pricing was more upfront from the start

"Bike upkeep seems decent overall"
The bikes are generally kept in okay shape, at least from what I’ve seen. Every now and then I’ll get one with squeaky brakes, but it seems like issues usually get fixed quickly
"Pretty handy most of the time"
Most days there’s a bike nearby when I need one, which is super convenient when I’m just trying to get somewhere quickly and don’t feel like waiting around. The only thing that gets annoying is during rush hour, because sometimes the docks near me are totally empty and then I’m just standing there like, okay, now what. But overall, it still works well enough for me and I end up using it often

I use Citi Bike a few times a week, and it’s usually there when I need it. The app and stations are up most of the time, which is nice. I’ve had a couple moments where it lagged or just wouldn’t unlock the bike, which was sooo annoying, but overall the uptime has been solid.

Canceling took a minute or two, but it went through fine. these things usually end up being way more annoying than they need to be, so I was glad this one was easy

I got my refund after a few days. It wasn’t instant, but it did go through in the end. Support was okay too, nothing amazing, but they helped enough.

"Could Feel a Bit More Uptown"
It’s not bad. Really. I just expected it to feel a little more uptown, you know? A bit more polished, maybe. It works fine, and there are parts I liked, but the overall vibe felt more basic than I pictured. Not a dealbreaker. Just wish it had that extra touch.

I use Citi Bike every now and then, and the kiosks are hit or miss for me. When everything is working, it’s simple enough and I can rent a bike quickly without much hassle.
But I’ve had a few times where the screen froze, my card took forever to read, or the display was almost impossible to see in bright sun. I also got bounced around when I tried getting help, which was annoying because nobody seemed to want to actually deal with the issue. It’s not a terrible system, but it definitely needs to be more reliable

"Accurate trip tracking with just a minor hiccup"
I ride Citi Bike a few times a week, and the trip tracking has been really solid overall. The start and end stations usually show up correctly, and the ride times line up with what I’d expect. I did notice one small delay once, but it updated shortly after, so it wasn’t a big deal. It’s been a convenient way to keep an eye on my rides.

"Not Feeling as Confident Using It Lately"
I still use Citi Bike here and there, but I’ve been a little unsure about the quality lately. A couple of bikes I picked up had brakes that felt weak or tires that seemed off, and the frustrating part is you don’t really know until after you’ve already unlocked it and started riding.
The app and account side also makes me a bit nervous. I wish it was more obvious when charges are going through or what happens if a bike doesn’t lock properly. It’s convenient and it does the job, but for something I’m trusting with both safety and payments, I expected it to feel more reliable

"Billing Has Been Reliable"
I use Citi Bike a few times a week, and so far the billing has been sorta dependable. My trips usually show up with the right times, and I haven’t noticed any random extra charges. There was one time a ride took a little while to show up correctly in my account, but it ended up fixing itself later. It’s not perfect, but overall the charges seem to match what I actually used

"I signed up for the membership sometime earlier…"
I signed up for the membership sometime earlier this year, or maybe it was late last year—I can’t remember the exact date, but it’s already paid off with my daily commute. I use it regularly for getting to and from work, and the savings have added up faster than I expected. It’s one of those things I wasn’t totally sure I needed at first, but now I’m glad I went for it.

"Clean enough that my brain says “go for it”"
Most Citi Bike stations I use are clean. Every now and then there’s a little trash around, but nothing that makes me avoid the place. At this point my mental shortcut is basically: if the station looks decent, I just grab a bike and don’t overthink it.
